and now breathe...

My weekend was so brilliant that I don't even know where to begin. A few key points though:

Friday Night: Home alone, with copious amounts of red wine (oops), numerous Doctor Who DVDs and chatting to random blokes on gay.com pretending to be a 19 year old hustler. The fun never stops.

Saturday Day: Met up with NS (Non Smoker) at Balham Kitchen & Bar for liquid brunch before moving on to the Most Bizarre BBQ Ever. The host was a crazy Kiwi woman who had obviously been drinking since 9.30 in the morning so by the time her guests arrived was weaving slightly. The guests included an Asian Shirley Bassey lookalike who made me eat some of her curry and an awful gay man whose beautiful Kenyan husband was only with him so that he could stay in the country. True dat.

Saturday Night: Hospitality at the Red Hot Chili Peppers gig (FANTASTIC! What I can remember of it...) with NS (Non Smoker) - more alcohol (a combination of champagne, red wine and finally gin [?!?!]), drunken tube journey afterwards with NS's digital camera reminding us of our antics the next morning. All 199 photos. Mostly of fat ladies' bottoms and a sexy Jewish geek reading a London A-Z opposite us on the tube. At one point I wasn't sure I hadn't peed myself given how much NS and I were laughing. In fact, it was the man sitting behind me at the gig who had peed his pants - NS had photographic evidence of it the next day.

Sunday Day: Quite a bit of puking in the morning and then the Undercover Surrealism exhibition at the Hayward Gallery with TLB (Truly Lovely Boy) which took some work given how very hungover I was.

The screening of "Un Chien Andalou (An Andalusian Dog)" by Luis Bunuel was particularly difficult...

Hello Ziggy,

I see "copious amounts of wine", I see "liquid brunch", I see "199 photos" and I certainly took sympathetic note of the word "hungover". I paused and asked myself, "GG, were you in London and not realised it??!"

Ok, I lie. I had 157 photos. All masks and feathers and sequinned drunken stupor. I am so darn proud.

Sounds like you had a full and fab weekend. And I'm sick with envy you caught Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Loved your "facelift" photo and "Flirt Off" post!

GG

I'm probably being a pretentious intellectual snob type here, but I adore 'chien'. Gotta love those ants. Less disturbing than the Aphex Twin thing I saw on my last visit into this here Stardust. Not that I've been having nightmares or anything ;-) Aargh, eyes of dogs....

I may have to commit the treason of visiting that London if there's a decent exhibition on. Didn't know there were galleries in London, too. Quite a cultural place, is it?

un chien andalou...i read about that junk in college when i did a research paper on dali. it sounded like some wacko shit. i onced watched a documentary on dali that he did in the 70's or something and it looked like an acid trip gone bad.

as for your weekend, sounds like you had did some serious partying. i'm sure the whiskey was flowin'.

Butchie - I may have to send them to you privately...

Good Girl - welcome to gay mars - good girls are always welcome in these here parts. Especially where masks, feathers, sequins and drunken stupor feature in the same sentence.

JVS - welcome also! I love pretentious intellectual snobs, so there is no problems there. London cultural? I'm thinking you're thinking of somewhere else.

Dan - eyeballs.

J - Dali was a freak but I think he was fabulous. Bunuel too. You're right about the acid trip gone bad though.

Norty - NO! NO WINE FOR YOU! :-) xxx

ps. No-one has sent me photos of cityshorts yet and I'm about to feel quite depressed about it. Does no-one care about this horrific virus that's taking over the major cities world over?

http://cityshortsgonebad.blogspot.com

help me eradicate the horror please.

Ahh...a grand weekend. I had my own buzz Friday night when hubby and I went to an outdoor concert to see 3 Doors Down and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Gotta love Molson's :)

Somehow I can not bring myself to watch a film where an eyeball is sliced by a razor, but if you insist it's good, I'll give it a whirl!

Gotta watch that red wine, it WILL make you hurl in large doses.

Dabich - SWEEEEEET HOME ALLLABAMA!!

Bluez - in fact, I think Chien is a bit so-so, but some of his other films (Bunuel) are REALLY cool. Check out "Belle de Jour" with Catherine Deneuve. That woman could turn any gay man straight, I swear.

MizBoho - The Chillis were, as always, SUPERB. I love them. Anthony Kiedis is my boyfriend. ;-)

Bluez - it did make me hurl in large doses though ha ha!
